Carl Gustav Carus 1789 Leipzig – 1869 Dresden
Charcoal drawing on yellowgreyish paper, partly heightened white and grey. Completely mounted on thin cardboard. A mounted paper label bottom right, thereon signed "Carus", dated and descibed "Zum 11. Sept(em)be(r) 1852". Framed.
Provenance: privat Saxon ownership, goddaughter of Margarete Schwerdtner; previous belonging to Margarete Schwerdtner, foster child by Caroline Cäcilia Carus.

Sheet partly cut to the drawing edge. The border areas with isolated with minimal to smaller lesions of the paper. A small watermark top center. The label with a tiny brownish trace of glue.
