Maler und Grafiker, Buchillustrator. Studierte an der Münchner Akademie bei Wilhelm von Diez. 1892 erste Ausstellung. 1901 Übersiedlung nach Berlin. 1914 als Kriegsmaler an der Front. 1917 Vorsteher einer Meisterklasse an der Berliner Akademie. 1924 Bühnenentwürfe für die Dresdner Staatsoper. Mitglied der Akademien der Künste in Berlin, München u. Dresden.

All sheets wrapped into parchment papers. Inserted in slip-case, embossed gold-coloured letters on the sides "Max Slevogt/ Randzeichnungen/ zu Mozarts / Zauberflöte".Catalogue of works by Söhn no. 230- 276.
